My name is Jo Claire Hall, and I'm the artist behind Groovy Gal Designs Online. It all started on the living room floor as a kid, where you'd usually find me coloring and doodling...or reading a book. Then I grew up and life intervened.
Fast forward a couple of decades to 2007. I wanted to participate in a local arts and crafts festival, but I didn't have anything to sell. Then I remembered pet rocks from the '70's. They were so cool, and I thought, "I can do that!" So I did! The positive feedback I received from festival-goers inspired me to expand my painting endeavors.
Fast forward another fifteen years, and my dabbling has turned into a full-fledged affair; in 2017-2020, I was thrilled to be able to add "art teacher" to my "English teacher" resume. I loved teaching art...but then pandemic happened, and we left our classrooms behind in the spring of 2020. My husband is an immuno-suppressed transplant recipient, so when the school said we had to return in person in the fall of 2020, I knew that wasn't an option for me/us. After 27 years in the high-school arena, I retired from teaching in August of 2020. I miss the kids and my co-workers, but I'm SO happy to say that I'm now a full-time artist! Retirement is awesome!
I feel fortunate to now be able to say that my work resides in homes throughout the United States, Canada, England, Australia, and Mexico. My designs are sold on several online, on-demand print venues as well. I pride myself on customer service and presenting quality works of art.
